(If you think it looks like my feet are screaming it's just because THEY ARE. 😅)

Would you guys be interested if I keep sharing my story and my progress here? After over a year of #monologuethursday I am no scared of anything anymore, and I think that this could help some of us out there who feel alone and stupid and hopelessly helpless.

I mean, I don't know about you, but it took me literally a lifetime to overcome the uneasy feeling that "well, it's too late", and not only for going on pointe, no... for all the things I can't do and I didn't learn when I was younger, like, ALL of them. And as I feel empowered when I see other people's progress, their struggle and the way they overcome it, when I see that hey, there's nothing you can about yesterday, but there's a lot you can do today and even more you can do about tomorrow, when I see that there is a community and that sharing the frustration allows you to see that you are not alone, I thought this could help. Because we always compare ourselves to those who are on top of the world, the best, most beautiful, strongest, most perfect human beings ever. And we think like we'll never be like that. And maybe we actually won't. But truth is, they shouldn't be the measure of ourselves, they should just be an inspiration to go on when we think it's not worth it, when it's just too painful, when the spirit aches even more the body does. The real measure of ourselves is us. And we are all in this together. I know what it feels to feel silly. To think that people look at you and laugh because "people don't do these things". Well, watch me. I am not "people". And neither are you. So, I'll share something here and there, just like I did every week last year with #monologuethursday. Thanks again to my amazing teacher Joan Liu - dance and wellness today I even balanced on my toes for a second! Love you all, #agirlfromtheislandinnewyork
